Culminating blog reflection

I am a very shy person therefore if i had any questions relating to my mentor's work i would evade asking them...But i learned to overcome this and ask some questions. This project helped me alot because i am a  very curious person but i am also shy. I liked watching him work his magic on women's hair. He also cut alot of men's hair which seemed much easier.


 I didn't really collaborate with him because he didn't want anyone to sue him in  case i made a mistake.I learned a lot throughout this project personally and socially. Also i was  very shy and afraid of ruining something. Therefore i mostly sat in a chair and watched him from a distance. I liked watching him style hair rather than just cut it because i learned some new hairstyles by just watching.

I learned that i do NOT want to be a cosmetologist or hair designer because people just go there to  tell you about their problems. I didn't enjoy being there as much as i thought i would because its all gossip. I also learned to be more outgoing and not as shy.

The challenges i encountered would have to be: PROCASTINATION, and time managment. i overcame my procastination problems by setting earlier deadlines in order to get work in time. I overcame my time managment problems by leaving activities i enjoyed doing in order to have time to work  on my project.

Capstone Essay

I have successfully edited my essay and made the corrections that my teacher suggested, now i only need to revise it a couple of times and add some more information with a valuable source. I am planning to go see my mentor some time this week to be finished with my hours too.

I just came back from shadowing my mentor for 2 hours, now i only have 10 hours left. I hope to finish my hours as soon as possible so that i can focus on my final essay.

I just came back from shadowing my mentor, i shadowed him for 3 hours. . I am planning on going a full day to finish faster, but i don't want to miss any school.

I went to shadow my mentor on Thursday February 21st. I shadowed him for 2 hours, i only have 15 hrs left. I am planning on trying to do as much hours as possible in order to focus mainly on my paper when the teacher gives it back.

Capstone Essay

Well i am finally done with my Capstone Essay, and i just need two more citations to finish everything. After this crazyness is over i will try to go see my mentor to shadow him for a few hours so that i can get the 17 hours left done and over with!

Update on Mentor Hours & Capstone project

I went to see my mentor on Monday January 21, 2013 for one hour. I interviewed him about the effect of media influence on women's hair, i will use his answers as a source for my essay.
I have also started writing my essay, its been hard but i've managed to write at least one page, hopefully i will be half done by the end of this week.

I shadowed my mentor yesterday January 10, 2013 for 2 hours. Now i only have 18 hours left to do! I finally got to see how highlights are done. It was quite interesting and it took quite a long time. I am hoping to start writing my paper next week!

"Fiscal Cliff Response"

The Democrat's position regarding the Fiscal Cliff is that they are willing to work with the Republicans in other to find a solution for the "Fiscal Cliff." Democrats do want deficit reduction and want to work with the Republicans but it seems like the Republicans want it all. Also the Democrats want higher taxes on wealthier Americans. The Republican's position regarding the Fiscal Cliff is strong in its position, the Republicans want deficit reduction but they just don't seem to accept higher taxes. Republicans want higher taxes on small business owners not just on wealthier Americans.

The way I conducted my research was by typing specific words in the google search bar. Also i edited the search tools to get as much resent information as possible. Also i narrawed my research down by clicking on the "News" bar. I tried to go on as many known sites as possible. Finally I only read things that seemed believeable.

I shadowed my mentor for 4 hours today January 3rd, 2013. Five hours down 20 more to go! I liked shadowing my mentor because in a salon with regular costumers you actually get to know more each individual instead of like  in  a regular store you see tons of diferent people everyday and you can only remember a few of them. I'm actually getting an idea of how to cut hair compared to how when i started shadowing him i knew nothing. Though i like styling hair i would prefer to focus on doing hairstyles instead of cutting and dying hair. I'm planning on doing more hours next week hopefully.
